Significant as this may be ..the extra significance of this match is that it was the first floodlight game for rugby league in this state and was played at Fremantle Oval on Thursday Night 15th September 1949 kicking off at 8.45pm. The referee was J O'Brein and the captains were Jim Carroll from WA and B Lulham (Balmain) .
