First junior game in WA (1949) between Applecross and Eastern Suburbs .
In May of 1949 Applecross announce that they had formed a team of schoolboys who were all under the age of 14. They played the first junior match at Peet Park against Eastern Suburbs on May 28th 1949. The game was a tight tussle and ended in a 3 all draw with one try apiece.
By 1953 there were over 12 different junior clubs fielding teams across a number of grades.
